
The Truth about Mold and Coffee...

I thought it would be good to address this since I get asked about it often. I've linked an article that lays out the truth about the risks of mold/mycotoxins in coffee. The short answer is that mold or mycotoxins aren't a risk in quality coffee. Sadly, it's been used as a scare tactic by some roasters and coffee companies to sell their products. Specialty coffee is inspected and graded both at the country of origin and when it lands here at the various importers. We only buy high quality green coffee from reputable importers but even lower quality coffee won't put you at risk for mold. So please buy high quality coffee because it's delicious not because you got caught up in marketing hysteria.
